Adult circumcision

The adult non-circumcised penis as shown in Figure 1, will under go a TaraKLamp circumcision procedure as follows.

The patient is draped in the usual sterile manner.

Gently retract the prepuce. Free any adhesions if they are present. Mark the prepuce circumfrentially which is to be removed.

Place the tubular part of the clamp over the glans, so that the glans is covered by the tube.

The prepuce is now pulled over the rim of the tube. Adjust the prepuce over the tube so that the level which has been marked earlier is just above the rim of the tube. The two locking arms are now snapped shut, and hemostatis is obtained between the rim and the bell of the TaraKLamp.

6. The prepuce distal to the clamping ring is excised at an angle between the tube and the clamping ring.

Although there is no bleeding, the tube is cleaned with sterile gauze and ointment is applied to the cut edge. Apply the ointment a few times daily, during the next few days.

The TaraKLamp is now left in place for 8 days to allow for complete hemostatis. During the post operative period, urine is voided through the distal opening.

At about the eighth day, the TaraKLamp is removed by severing the two connective membranes on the device, and allowed to freely loosen. The bell dislodges after bathing, and should not be forcibly removed.

The TaraKLamp circumcision results in a uniformly and evenly cut and cosmetically pleasing appearance.

When fully healed, the circumcision is synonymous with a penis that was circumcised at birth.
